WHAT IS PRACTICE?
WHAT IS PRACTICE?
Sthira Sukham Asanam - Patanjali 2:46
A steady & easeful posture
Sthira - “The ability to hold steady in an asana, to hold body, energy & mind in balance” - Robert Svoboda
Sukham - “The comfort that arises when the joints and bones are harmoniously aligned with gravity and when the muscles are free of strain. At the energetic level, sukham manifests as an easy flow of breath and balanced circulation of prana.” - Robert Svoboda
Your asana practice is a cradle within which to nurture the quality of balance.
Your practice is a place where you can be curious, where you can explore, and inquire inwards.
It is a moving meditation.
It is the ground from which you may flourish and grow.
It is also
YOUR body, YOUR practice, YOUR yoga
So could you allow your practice to unfold as it does, without preconceptions, without agenda?
Could you be willing to be ok with wherever you are, even if it is not where you think you should be?
Could you learn to travel slowly, to find the support and connection from the ground, and trust that expansion, space and ease will arise naturally without force?
Could you allow yourself to believe that the real healing arises out of the slowness and the moment to moment acceptance of things as they are?
