MOVEMENT IS MAGIC | MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE

I am curious, what is your relationship to MOVEMENT at the moment?

Does it bring pleasure or pain?

It is a habit or a chore?

In the old days movement was very much part of life, in fact we almost we had to move too much, it took a heavy toll on the body. Now we don’t need to move so much, everything is made to be more accessible so we can focus more on mentally doing things. Movement has moved into our heads and become thoughts.

Modern medicine has meant that we live longer, but I am not sure it is teaching us how to live better. The sedentary life that so many of us live is leading to an epidemic of poor health outcomes across the world and we urgently need to do something about this now.

Over time the fascia stiffens, our movements become compromised, and we become the shape of what we do. It happens so slowly, that we almost do not even notice it. This stiffness though is a signal to be taken seriously, it is a signal from the body that you need to do something about it. It is a signal to move the body.

But the good news is that the solution is simple, even better is that it is accessible to everyone and need not cost anything. It is so easy to do, you would think it would be the first thing that the medical world would prescribe.

The problem is it needs to be pleasurable, else why would you do it? Why bother, when you can take a pain killer to deal with the stiff back, aching hip or knee.

And so that is my plan for the month of September……..to help you bring the JOY of MOVEMENT back into to your life.

  • I would like to invite you to think of your body as a sponge and to think of movement as a way of adding water to make it work, to restore fluidity and ease back into your daily life.

  • I would like to invite you to think of movement as being a conscious decision that you make in order to not get stuck in a rigid and stiff body.

  • I would like to invite you to think of movement as being a pleasurable way to remodel your body, to release tension and create more balance within.

  • And finally I would like to invite you to think of movement as being a way of spreading love all through your body

It is a different kind of body building!
