BUILD A SELF PRACTICE IN 7 DAYS

BUILD A SELF PRACTICE IN 7 DAYS

The other day I asked who has a self practice & who doesn’t. I got some lovely responses from those who do which was really nice to hear about. I’m still curious about those on the other side of the fence & would love to hear from you.

I think there is a huge amount of misconceptions over what a self practice is & so I’d like to hazard a guess that those that don’t put time aside each day to tend to their needs, don’t do it simply because they are not in the habit of doing it & the reason for that is because their minds over complicate what self practice might entail.

What if I said to you that 5 minutes a day is enough? What if I said to you that you don’t need to even be in ‘yoga clothes’ or be on a ‘yoga mat’? What if I said to you that anyone can do it, whatever is going on in your life, you can still practice. There are no exclusions, no demographic or economic barriers to the practice.

7 days will not build a habit. In fact the science says it takes 21 days to build a habit. But you have to start somewhere & 7 days is a manageable chunk of time to consider. It’s a period of time in which you can lay down the foundations of a practice that fits in with your life.

So here it is, 7 steps towards building a self practice. What have you got to lose? It’s just a week right & who knows, maybe you’ll gain something you didn’t know you could have.
